Missouri Virtual Academy (MOVA) is recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) , which enables our students to take courses that count toward the academic requirements needed to become a college athlete.

What is the NCAA?
The NCAA is an organization dedicated to the well-being and success of college athletes. The NCAA comprises several member schools that award nearly $3.5 billion in athletic scholarships yearly and provide vast support to help student-athletes graduate.
The NCAA consists of three divisions.
Division I
generally has the largest student body, athletics budgets, and number of athletic scholarships.
Division II
focuses more on academic achievement and service to the community.
Division II
maintains participation in a competitive athletics environment that still pushes academic excellence.
What does NCAA-approved mean?
NCAA schools require college-bound student-athletes to build a strong foundation of high school courses to prepare them for the academic expectations in college. MOVA, which the NCAA recognizes, offers high school courses that count toward the 16 NCAA-approved courses required to become a college athlete.
Student-athletes must also graduate from high school and earn a minimum GPA.
